Here’s an amazing recipe you’re sure to thank me for for years to come…
Rum Cake
1 C chopped pecans or walnuts18 1/2 oz. package of yellow cake mix
3 3/4 oz. package of vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1/2 C cold water
1/2 C vegetable oil
1/2 C dark rum
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan or 12 C bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of pan. Mix together cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil and rum. Pour batter over nuts. Bake according to cake mix directions. Cool; invert on serving plate. Prick top and drizzle glaze evenly over sides and top. Allow cake to absorb glaze.
Glaze
1/4 lb. Butter1/3 C water
1 C sugar
1/2 C dark rum
Melt butter in sauce pan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in rum.
You’re welcome.
Happy Thanksgiving :)
So you weren’t kidding about hitting the rum later?
